Just Beat It cont’d

As we moved later into the night, the mood of Relay started to change. What had started off as an exciting evening of fun, games, and music transformed as luminaries were set up along the track, and the reality of cancer sunk it’s claws into Relayers hearts.

Carleton Glee Club took the stage, singing ballads from “Lean on Me,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” and “Stand by Me.”

The pain of lose was clear on the faces of Relayers during the Luminary Ceremony, and friends banded together to comfort each other as the impact of cancer struck home.

But no one was alone that night- everyone you looked there were smiles and laughter, hugs and tears as loved ones were remembered, and new vows were made to destroy cancer, once and for all.
